Stash Enhancement

Just when I've finally to bust all my acryllic stash to make up the fish afghan, I've found new yarn to buy....

Panda Myth.  I'm very sure this is one of the seasonal yarn that Spotlight brings in, which means, they will not bring it in anymore once it is sold out.  A very interesting mohair blend, I like the color.  I was thinking of knitting a wrist bag with this yarn, I'm sure it's going to be pretty.  Am just wondering if it is strong enough like other yarn.  I might need to add a lining if it is not.

Fiddlestick Mega yarn.  I like the color combination too.  Was thinking of knitting a shawl.  When I do a guage last night, I though about knitting a tube top, with a matching shrug.  I'm sure that is going to be very nice.  Can't wait to start knitting.

Can you imagine a bag which look like this?  I can't imagine too, but I've seen one which was knitted using this yarn, which attract me to buy this range. We'll see!

Africa!!

I suddenly remembered that someone went to Philippines (I think) more than 13 years back and brought me these as souvenirs.  I can't remember who that is...  Maybe my auntie?  I went to dig into my wardrobe and proved that my memory has not failed me.

Can you imagine me wearing these?  I'll probably look like a Christmas tree!  Guess how I'm gonna re-use them?  Of cos, my new found obssession, Book Thongs!!

Fishing Marathon

I was watching vcd the whole weekend, didn't even step out of the house for meals. Well, instant noodles it is...

Of cos, the only time that I knit it when I was watching TV. I was working hard on the Fish Afghan for Rick. I'm about 45% done, I guess... But, I'm sure that I can complete this way in advance for Christmas. I might give it to him earlier? Ya, it's getting very windy in Tiong Bahru, starting Aug all the way till Jan.

I've stitched up about 38 fishes... The balck color fish is very outstanding on the afghan, but, it's a nightmare stitching it up, cos I can't even see the stitch at all, especially under the lousy lighting that I have at home. Well, I almost gave up this project, as when I was about 20 fishes done. Thought it doesn't look as nice as I've expected it to be. But I persisted. Now I know I'm right to carry on. This sure look very nice and it is very warm and comfy. I'm sure Rick will like it.

I'm just wondering... The sides looks a bit flimsy and out of shape. Should I do a border for this afghan? To create my own border, or to knit all fishes in the same color and use that as border? I should have enough time to ponder on this while I continue fishing...

More fishes waiting to be stitched up. Here's about 28 of them. That makes 66 fishes. I wonder how many more fishes I need to complete. But I can swear that this is a fantastic stash buster! I've more or less finish most of my stash and scraps. Does that mean an excuse for me to start buying again? Hiak...

I've joined this CAL. I can't wait to start on more snowflakes. I've done my homework to search for the different kinds of snowflakes that I can try during the CAL week. I've calculated that I've about 50 over patterns. I'm just thinking about how many of them can I really work out due my limited skills.

I've finally made my 1st white snowflake...

Weekend is over...

Oh well, not a very productive weekend. Tried a couple of snowflake patterns, but gave up cos I don't know what the pattern is talking about. Guess I didn't read the pattern hard enough... I should start hunting for more patterns. Anyway, I've bought the white thread already and produced another 5 more of the simple snowflake.

Was knitting a Christmas Tree Skirt, but found that it's a little too short to cover the tree legs. It was knitted with 4-ply yarn. Guess I need to get some 8-ply yarn and do it on 8mm needles. Hope that helps! I'm good in "cheating" when it comes to knitting on big needles...

Was in Crochetville this morning and saw Julie's snowflake gallery. This is amazing, I tell you! I will strive to crochet as many patterns as her!

Silvia liked my choker design. I roughly explain and drew out to her for the pattern. She went back on Fri night andn start crocheting a strap for her Swatch watch using that very pattern. And she sms me that she did it at 1.30am!
