Not again...

After almost completing the blouse (only left the lacy panel in front), I realised that the blouse ends up too short. I did follow the pattern as per what those pple at Golden Dragon (LYS) taught me!

What's wrong with me these days? The blouse for Silvia was too short. And now, it's mine!

What should I do now?

1) Should I frog the whole thing and re-do again?
2) Should I pretend nothing happens and continue?
3) Should I try to lengthen it by adding on the stitches?

I hope I can finish it real soon!
Can't wait to see the end product.

Isabella - Updated

Gave the blouse to Silvia on Friday night. She like it very much. The color and the lace pattern in front. However, we had a problem. The blouse ended up too short. It became a midriff for her...

Now, I have to think of how to lengthen it.

And I present... Isabella

This project took me longer than I expected. Spent one whole month working on it. Worked till my fingers cramp. Not only that, had to frog the pattern many times cos of the lacve part. Had improvised the pattern too. The lace, the neckline and arm hole were all improvised using my own interpretation.

Phew... It's time to work on my own blouse now.

Recycling an old bag

This used to be my favourite bag, cos I love the fabric. However, I didn't get to use it for long cos the lining was so flimsy that it gave way after like less than 10 times of use. I was so disappointed at the quality of work.

In order not to let the bag go to waste, I decided to tear them apart and make use of the other good "parts" for making other bags.

And here's what I have:
Magnetic Snaps
Bag handles
Zip
D rings

Now I can use these supplies to create other bags!

It's out! Here's the preview... *Click*

I love the blouse on the cover page, though I don't like sleeves...

I want to see the front of the "Ribs and Lace Tank".

"Tea Rose Halter Top" looks lovely and sexy!

My fav is the "Clementine Shawlette".

The "Keyhole Top"!!! Isn't that sexy? I would love to wear that!

The "Lace Shrug" seems ok too!

There are so many nice projects this round. I hope I will be able to get a copy of this issue!!

Rose Pens, this time!

Thanks to Christinacoghill from Craftsters! I've made more roses last night to put on pens! Don't they look cool?

Somehow... The white rose just doesn't look nice. Maybe it's the color? Or is it the yarn?
Anyway, this is a great stash busting project idea!

Sharing my hobby

Found that pple nowadays seldom have hobbies. Having the hectic lifestyle, many find that it's tough to find time for hobby.

I had the pleasure of sharing my hobby with my frens. Had taught Silvia how to knit in 2006. She's made a blouse and a few shawls already!

Today, I brought Jocelyn and Hui Sing to Chinatown to buy some beads. The plan was for Joce to buy the beads and I make it for her. I brought her to the bead shop to choose what she wants. It dawned upon me that she can actually make her own, since it's just simply stringing the beads together!

And we spent more than an hour in the shop, choosing the beads that they like. I got them some strings, clasps and jump rings. They were happy to choose the beads. I can imagine how exciting it must have been for beginners like them.

Hui Sing went off earlier with her hubby. Joce and I continued walking around Chinatown. When I reached home, I took a pic of how to use the clasp. I'm surprised that HS had already made her 1st necklace! I felt excited for her.

It's just such a pleasure to share your hobby with pple. Now there's one more thing that we can do together!

Best of Both World

I love this bag. I made this as a Christmas present for Silvia. She's chic and creative. I had to admit that choosing a gift for her is not easy. She has almost everything, or rather, I'm just very lousy in buying gifts. I took on the challenge to make her a tote bag so that she can use it to carry her library books.

I had went to Chinatown a few times to look for that perfect fabric that she would like. After numberous trips, I finally saw something which suits her. I didn't knew which color to choose for her, so I bought both fabric and made her a reversible bag.

She knew that I've started sewing, but didn't expect me to make anything for her. She had jokingly mentioned that she don't trust my skills. And she was right! I had to unpick some stitches to get that perfect look I wanted.

I had a hard time finding a suitable wrapper for this bag. I didn't want it to look very normal. I used felt to wrap and crack my head to brainstormed a few before I realised that I have a leaf chain lying somewhere in my stash. This chain was an experiment to improve on my crochet skills. I then took abt 10mins to try to secure the felt packaging using the leaf chain. It looked very plain. I then crocheted a rose to beautify it. I would love to admit that this is the best wrapped gift in my whole life. And I enjoyed the process very much! I love it so much that I almost want to keep it for myself!

After I passed the present to Silvia, she unwrapped her present as normal. And didn't suspect that it was made by me at all. She asked where I bought that bag. I told her that it's handmade by me. She was very surprised by that. She then proceeded to inspect my workmanship and commented that I can make some tote bags to sell.

That's probably the best compliment I've heard in the busy month of December! It motivates me to work harder to make more nice things.

BTW, the creative girl has kept the leaf chain and rose to turn it into something else! I can't wait to see what she can make out of those "scraps"! But I'm just so glad that she didn't throw those away. I mean, pple who doesn't appreciate handmade crafts wld just dispose it instantly.

I'm not dead...

I'm just very busy for the past 2 months!
Here's a few projects that I've done...
