My 1st sewn project

I was just skimming through the various crafts that pple do in the craftster website...  I chanced upon this sections on bags and purses.  All the craftsters there are just so skillful!  Of cos, I saw many bags that I like, but I can't sew...

Anyway, I saw this thread abt a Super easy felt cell phone cozy and I knew that it's something that I can try on.  So...  I went back and set up the little sewing machine that my mum bought some time back.  And look at what I've created?  It's such a fun experience.

TP Hammock

Ok...  I know I've got the cool sushi TP cozy from the "Unconditional Swap" already...  That was meant for another toilet, but not this one.  This toilet does not have a space where I can put the cozy.  We do have this long rod where we hang our towels...  And here comes my TP hammock!

PS: Pls pretend that you didn't see the ugly orange wall...  Parents always have weird taste!!!

Look what I've got!!

Wow...  tonnes of goodies from Bladeburn from the "Ziplock full of doodads" swap 2.

So, there's lotsa beads and buttons.  Also some crochet threads and guess wat?  A crochet hook of the matching size!  I've been searching for hook of this size but it was out of stock!  I'm so happy.

Experiment

Ok, I've tried out THIS during the weekend... It worked out great, even though there were some parts that I don't reali understand, but I managed to bluff my way through, and the end product still look the same.

I used crochet thread and am gonna make a blouse out of this pattern. The idea is very easy. Crochet 2 pcs of long rectangular pieces, then sew the top as shoulder, and leave the rest open, only to crochet a string-like belt to tie the waist part together. Not too sure how it will work out. I've finish the 1st piece, and am working on the 2nd piece. If I'm hardworking enough, I'll be able to finish this within this week.

Now, should i line this hole-ly thingy with a cloth behind, or should I just leave it, and wear it on top on whatever I want? Something to ponder about...

Unconditional Swap

Unconditional Swap
This is such an interesting swap.  All swappers can list down 3 wishes and anyone can choose what to send them, according to their skills.  I see that response has been fantastic so far.  Most of the swappers who has listed had been selected.  I'm one of the lucky ones, who's been able to get 2 wishes selected.

Here's what Princess_me sent...  Lots of beautiful beads

Here's another cozy that I've made for my phone...

Pattern adapted from here:

See how cute it is!!!

I gave the flap a miss as it turned our weird.  I put in a button instead, it's not pictured here as it was done after I took this photo.  I also made some adjustments as I didn't understand the part about the decrease.

This turned out so cute that I couldn't resist making another one.  A fuschia color one this time.

This time, I made the opening to be right at the bottom, and made some eyelets to create a drawstring pouch.  Here's the closeup of the bottom part.

I've got a new phone as my birthday gift.  Specially, chose a matching fun fur yarn to knit into a pouch.  It's so flurry and soft, I love holding onto it.

I'm in the progress of knitting another pouch with a squid design.  Will post pics when it's done!

I miss my phone...

I got this phone a few months back, immediately I crocheted 2 pouches to keep it. Look at the beautiful pouches...

I was charging it one day in the office and forgot to bring it back. It was gone the next morning. Anyway, the phone lasted only less than a month, or was it only 2 weeks old? You have absolutely no idea how painful it is to lost a phone. All my numbers are gone and I didn't keep a list on paper! Sigh...
